Job Description
Responsibilities: • Documentation management: Handle the end-to-end documentation process for import and export operations, including preparing and verifying shipping documents, invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other relevant paperwork. • Customs compliance: Ensure adherence to customs regulations and requirements for both import and export shipments. Stay up-to-date with any changes in customs procedures, tariffs, and trade regulations to ensure smooth clearance of goods. • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners: Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to obtain necessary documentation, track shipments, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. • Record keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of all import and export documentation, including invoices, shipping documents, customs forms, and other relevant records. Organize and manage documentation in an efficient and easily retrievable manner. • Compliance with international trade laws: Stay informed about international trade laws, sanctions, embargoes, and export control regulations to ensure compliance during import and export processes. Assist in conducting compliance audits and implementing necessary controls. • Communication and coordination: Liaise with internal departments, such as procurement, sales, and logistics, to gather and exchange information related to import and export activities. Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including customs officials, shipping agents, and suppliers, to resolve any documentation or shipment-related issues. • Process improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining documentation processes, reducing errors, and improving efficiency. Collaborate with relevant teams to implement process enhancements and automation solutions.
