Job Description:
1. Receive orders via phone, e-mail, and fax.
2. Coordinate shipments with carriers. Arrange equipment, loading/unloading scheduling and requirements.
3. Ensure each shipments departs/arrives as per the scheduled plan without any major delays.
4. Ensure each shipment generates the maximum contribution to the company by keeping constant focus on meeting the required service level at the lowest possible cost.
5. Maintain and file all records in accordance with company procedure.
6. Communicate with customer on shipping schedule, pricing, product availability, product/shipping documentation, sample request and loading requirements, and order confirmation.
7. Track and trace railcar movements to ensure availability, estimate loading dates and transit times, schedule future orders.
8. Maintain and update system database regarding customers, products, suppliers,pricing.
9. Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
10. Detail Oriented & Able to Multi-task.
11. Excellent Communication Skills - Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing.
12. Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
13. Interpersonal - Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
14. Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work- related problems.
15. Team Builder - Ability to convince a group of people to work toward a goal.
16. Autonomy - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
17. Constantly review working processes with carriers and transport companies to ensure best practice, but also that fees charged are in line with competitors.
18. Generate inquiry for forwarding business
19. Ensure invoices are billed to customers on time and responsible for collection
